1/26/09:  Another year of Trivia has come and gone (way too quickly I might add).  A once solace dock full of eagerness and anxiousness, became a booming 50 hours of fiery adventure.

            Now, at the dawn of the day after Trivia, the quiet is setting in again, as our shipmates return to everyday life.  There is a feeling in the air that is very hard to describe.  A sense of accomplishment fills the room, and a feeling that our once newfound friends have become a family.  No joy could ever be greater than that of family!

            Years ago, a once small group of eager pirates, who only dreamed of reaching the treasure - pirates who drifted into trivia just to have fun…sailed across trivial waters to unite with a crew of truly wonderful mates, all of whom we admire and adore with all of our hearts, and all of which are special to us in their own unique way.   They took us under their wings and taught us to fly.  We merged together and became, a team not to be reckoned with, and also a close-knit family who all share the same passion and love for the game – A family that I would not change for the world!

            We fought hard this year, and created so many amazing memories and stories to tell about our trivial journey, and at the end of it all, we sailed proudly, with heads held high, into 2^nd place…And I have a hunch that for now, and for many years to come, our small treasure that we fought so hard for, will become our favorite, and will go down in pirate history.  It’s not just the prize; it is the feeling and the memories behind it that make this one so incredibly special.  I say this every year, and every year it seems to take on a whole new meaning - this year has been the best Trivia year ever!

·        Finally thanks to all the teams out there for sharing in the love of the game.  Don’t ever be discouraged. When you play – play from the heart …you just never know when the underdog will rise.  Anything can and does happen in trivia land!  The pirates are living proof!
